Indonesia has lifted the requirement for submission of test and inspection certificates related to ethylene oxide (EO) for imports of Korean instant noodles. This measure had been implemented following the detection of a non-carcinogenic substance that can be generated from EO in Korean instant noodles previously exported to the EU. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety continuously requested Indonesia to lift the strengthened control measures on Korean instant noodle products. With this measure, Korean instant noodles can now pass through customs quickly upon export without submitting additional certificates.
