In early September, South Korea's cumulative exports exceeded last year's annual export volume of $679.3 billion. This is mainly due to the increase in semiconductor exports, which increased by 169.6% compared to the same period last year from January to August. Semiconductor exports account for 40.6% of total exports and have had a significant impact on export growth. Exports are showing an upward trend in all major markets except the Middle East, and the possibility of achieving $1 trillion in annual exports has increased. If the current trend continues, South Korea will become the fourth country in the world to achieve $1 trillion in annual exports, following the United States, China, and Germany.
