How much salary should I receive to feel like it's enough..?
I still maintain a relationship with my previous company..
When a new Korean employee joins, I go to them and teach them about the work
I normally exchange greetings with the boss and other Korean employees, and we spend time that way..
There's a Korean employee who has been with us for less than a year..
Usually when someone joins, we set their salary..
About a year later, we adjust the salary..
But this person starts complaining every time we talk shortly after joining..
The salary is too low..
There's too much work..
So..since adjustment is possible after about a year..
I told them that if they handle these types of tasks well, it will help more with a salary increase..
But..
I'm sorry to say this about them..
Sometimes they ask about work over the phone..
When I listen..
I often think, can't they even handle this much..?
But at the end of the conversation, they complain about the salary being low..there being too much work..
It was probably them who agreed to the salary when they first joined..
But they're always complaining that the salary is too low..
I'm not sure if I have some kind of slave mentality(?)
But I don't seem to have had big complaints about the salary being low..
When I first joined..
I received less than what I made at my previous company..
The industry was different too..
Since my work ability wasn't certain, that's probably how it was set..
But..I didn't really think the salary was low..
Rather..
I even had time to write posts on the internet in between..
Actually, I even felt like I was slacking off..I felt a bit sorry..
After a year, my salary went up..
From when I joined to when I left, it seems my salary went up by roughly 80%..
There were people who made more than me..
When I saw them, the thought that came to me was..
Rather than envying them for making more money
I first thought, they really have a lot of work..
I thought, with that much work, that person makes more than me..
But I didn't want to make the same salary they do
And work like they do..
To put it nicely, I'm content with what I have..
To evaluate coldly
You could say I had good self-awareness..
Even if you receive 10,000 won..
From the receiver's perspective, that salary probably won't feel sufficient..
From the giver's perspective
There's probably a desire to give as little as possible..
Since you need to run a company
You'd have to cut costs as much as possible..
The money spent on Korean employees is probably no small amount..
But..
This is my opinion, but..
If that person is really needed..becomes a necessary person for the company
If I were the boss, I would manage them so they don't develop any other thoughts(?)..
Like salary increases or benefits..
What I mean is..
From the receiver's perspective, no matter how high the salary is, it will feel low..
From the giver's perspective, no matter how low the salary is, it will feel high..
The compromise, in my opinion, is that you need to become a necessary person..
That's when the conditions for making a deal between each other are met..
Expensive machines cost a lot..
So that's why people pay a lot of money to buy them..
Cheap machines break down easily and have defects often..
It's a bit awkward to compare people to machines
But it doesn't seem very different..
Bosses wouldn't want to lose people who work well and are capable..
They end up paying high prices even if they have to push themselves a bit..
To do that, I think it's important to show first that my value is high..
You wouldn't buy an expensive machine without testing its performance first..
I might have been telling the story too much from the boss's perspective..
Anyway, I tend to think that way..
I'm a well-performing machine..
If you want to use me at a cheap price
You should go find someone who will buy a good machine at an expensive price..
I asked the question at the beginning, how much salary should I receive to feel like it's enough..
In my opinion..
There probably isn't sufficient salary anywhere in the world
But there is probably an appropriate salary..
That appropriate level could be set by the boss
But it would be better if the person themselves set it..
I think it's right to show that I'm worth that much salary and prove it
And if the salary still doesn't go up sufficiently(?), to leave for a place that recognizes that..
I..prefer a company where I work moderately and receive a decent salary
Rather than a company where I work a lot and make a lot of money..
Looking at it this way, it seems I have good self-awareness..
