The illegal importation of obesity drugs Vigovi and Mounjaro is on the rise. The number of cases detected in the first half of this year reached 4,155, 3.5 times more than the annual total last year. Personal direct purchases through overseas sites are the main means of smuggling, with 84.8% of cases using international mail. Vigovi and Mounjaro are designated as 'harmful drugs' by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and their importation is prohibited without quantity restrictions. The Customs Service is conducting thorough inspections at border checkpoints to block such illegal inflows.
