In the first half of this year, the valuation of virtual assets held by major domestic cryptocurrency exchanges Upbit and Bithumb decreased by 39.6% and 30.5%, respectively. This is a result of the sluggish virtual asset market, with the price decline of major coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum being the main cause. On the other hand, the amount of virtual assets entrusted to exchanges by members has increased. Both Upbit and Bithumb saw an increase in the holdings of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies held by their members, but the total valuation decreased due to the price decline.
