After retiring as a player from Sammi Superstars, he served as manager for several teams including LG Twins, Samsung Lions, and Lotte Giants. The funeral service for former manager Baek In-cheon was held at the mortuary of Dankook University Hospital in Cheonan, Chungnam Province, and it was the second time in history that a KBO league manager's funeral was held.
