Foreign media outlets including 9to5Mac and MacRumors reported on the 13th (local time), citing analyst Jeff Pu's outlook from Hong Kong's Haitong International Securities.
Analyst Jeff Pu, based on sources and supply chain investigations, predicts that the base iPhone 18 model will be equipped with 12GB of RAM. This represents a 4GB increase from iPhone 17's 8GB, matching the level of the iPhone 17 Pro model.
Regarding the RAM capacity of the iPhone 18, analysts' outlooks are divided. Previously, analyst Dan Ives also predicted in April that the iPhone 18 would feature 12GB of RAM. In contrast, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted that both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e would feature 9GB of RAM. In that case, some analysts have suggested that certain Apple Intelligence features may not be supported.
Analyst Jeff Pu predicts that the budget-friendly iPhone 18e, expected to launch in spring next year alongside the iPhone 18, will be equipped with 9GB of RAM. Both models are expected to be equipped with Apple's next-generation A20 chip.
Changes are also expected in display design. Jeff Pu predicts that the iPhone 18 base model will feature a new Dynamic Island that is smaller than before.
