How much would the salary be for an exclusive contract?

I've lived in Indonesia for quite a while,

and I also need to support my elderly mother..

and I want to fulfill my childhood dream

at the same time..


When I was a kid at school,

teachers used to ask us..

to share what each of our dreams was..



Most of my friends said

scientist.. president..

and I said fisherman, without ever wavering..


I have no particular connection to the sea..

I'd like to become a coastal fisherman,

but since I don't have the money to become a boat captain,

I'd like to work as a salaried crew member..

as long as I get paid enough just to get by,

I'm curious how much that would be..



I've been a desk worker for over 20 years,

but I don't get seasick,

and I feel like going back to Korea to be near my mother

and complete my childhood dream is my last chance..


Of course I'm sure it'll pay less than what I earn here,

but people don't live on money alone..

    [EN] I'm not sure, but I'd imagine it must be physically very demanding, wouldn't you? I've noticed a lot of young foreign workers doing it these days... I have absolutely no idea about the salary though 😂

    [ID] Tidak tahu pasti sih, tapi mungkin secara fisik akan sangat berat ya? Belakangan ini memang banyak pekerja asing muda yang melakukannya... Informasi gaji sama sekali tidak tahu 😂

    [KR] 저희 직원 중 한명이... 저보다 나이가 많은 직원이 있는데... 그 친구가 저희 양식장 오기 전에 배를 탔었다고 하더라고요. 그래서 물어보니... 현지인 기준... 월급쟁이 페리급 배의 선장 월급이 차이는 있겠지만... 대략 10JT ~ 15JT 라고 합니다. 여기서 페리급이라고 하면.. 섬과 섬을 오가는 여객선을 이야기 합니다. 어떻게... 이직 도전해보시겠어요? ㅎㅎㅎ 월급이 뒷받침을 못할거 같은데요? ^^

    [EN] One of our employees... there's someone older than me on staff... and apparently he used to work as a ship captain before coming to our aquaculture farm. So when I asked about it... by local standards... while there are differences, a salaried ferry captain makes somewhere around 10JT ~ 15JT. When we say ferry-class here, we're talking about passenger ships that operate between islands. So how about it... would you want to give changing jobs a shot? ㅎㅎㅎ I doubt our salary could match that though? ^^

    [ID] Ada salah satu karyawan kami... lebih tua dari saya... dia bilang pernah naik kapal sebelum datang ke peternakan ikan kami. Jadi saya tanya... menurut standar lokal... gaji kapten kapal kelas ferry memang berbeda, tapi katanya sekitar 10JT ~ 15JT. Kalau kelas ferry di sini, maksudnya kapal penumpang yang pergi-pulang antar pulau. Nah, bagaimana... mau coba cari kerja baru? ㅎㅎㅎ Tapi sepertinya gajinya tidak akan bisa mencukupi, ya? ^^
