The death toll from a massive flood in the Himalayan mountains on the Nepal-China border has risen to 682, with 3,000 people still missing. The flood originated in Nepal's Bagmati province and affected Tibetan areas as well, resulting in missing persons at a hydroelectric power plant under construction by Doosan Enerbility and Korea South East Power. The Korean government is dispatching an additional joint rapid response team and conducting search operations using helicopters to assist with rescue efforts. Park Jeong-won, chairman of Doosan Group, has also arrived at the scene to participate in the search and rescue efforts. The flood is suspected to have been caused by glacier collapse due to global warming.
