The U.S. Department of State has tentatively approved the sale of 103 AIM-9X Sidewinder Block II air-to-air missiles to South Korea, among other items. The deal is worth approximately 170 billion won and RTX is the prime contractor. The United States said that this sale would contribute to strengthening South Korea's air defense capabilities and enhancing regional security. Final approval requires Congressional approval, but passage is considered likely.
