The National Tax Service recently extended the corporate tax payment deadline for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Geoje and Tongyeong regions by two months to reduce damage caused by severe heavy rains that hit the southern region. In addition to SMEs, general corporations can also apply for an extension of the payment deadline and receive support. As a result, it is expected that many companies that play a central role in the economy of the Geoje and Tongyeong regions, such as shipbuilding, will benefit greatly. The National Tax Service plans to set up a dedicated window for "Taxpayer Disaster Relief Support" for affected businesses and provide various tax relief measures, including deductions for disaster losses.
