President Lee Jae-myung visited Argentina and held a summit meeting with President Alberto Fernández, agreeing to start importing crude oil from Argentina next year. This is expected to be an opportunity to expand South Korea's energy import route concentrated in the Middle East to South America. The two countries also agreed to promote joint lithium mining projects and conclude a double taxation avoidance agreement, as well as support Korean companies' entry into Argentina. Through the reactivation of the Korea-Argentina Economic Cooperation Committee and the Energy Resources Cooperation Committee, the two countries plan to continuously strengthen cooperation.
