President Yoon Suk Yeol visited Brazil as a state guest and held a summit meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two countries agreed to expand cooperation in various fields, including the establishment of a working group for the resumption of the Mercosur trade agreement, strengthening cooperation in the defense industry (promotion of an agreement on exchange and protection of defense secret information), and signing a memorandum of understanding on space cooperation. In particular, Brazil, as a world-leading country in possessing key minerals, recognized the importance of comprehensive supply chain cooperation with Korea. Moreover, Brazil, as a leading country in nuclear disarmament in South America, expressed its support for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
