I've lived here for 24 years and have been to Korean hospitals maybe twice.

You've probably heard of Chanel No. 5...

It's a perfume name...

I think it's a French product or something like that, but I could be wrong... I'm not knowledgeable about that sort of thing...

Perfume is particularly developed in Europe...

Why is that...?

Is it because of the elegant and dignified white people...?

That's not it...

In medieval Europe, there were many diseases including the plague...

The plague is a disease transmitted by rats...

Those diseases contaminated the water supply...

Naturally, drinking water and water for washing became scarce or almost impossible to obtain...

Setting aside the common people,

those so-called nobles couldn't stand the foul odors coming from their own bodies...

So perfume had to develop as a way to hide those foul smells...

Indonesia is located at the equator...

As you know, it's an island... so there must be some humidity...?

The temperature is around 30 degrees, which provides ideal conditions for viruses to thrive...

Food must spoil quickly too, I imagine...

Because the conditions are ideal for viruses to thrive, various diseases have existed,

and probably still exist today...

If there are many diseases... there must be many medicines...

So while many people might look down on Indonesian medicine,

there are quite a few, and many of them are highly effective...

For example...

Typhus is an endemic disease in Indonesia...

Indonesian medicine works better and treats it more effectively than Korean medicine...

I had these thoughts from the beginning when I came to Indonesia...

So during my 24 years of living here, I think I've only been to a Korean hospital once or twice...

Perfume and Indonesian medicine...

Looking at these two things,

the proposition is complete that inconvenience creates necessity, and that necessity drives progress...

We could also say that humanity has advanced because of inconvenience...

The greatest invention of humanity is probably the wheel...

Before the wheel was invented, people must have faced enormous inconvenience in moving things...

Personally, I don't seem to be the type of person who fits that proposition...

Progress comes from feeling inconvenience and making improvements, but

in fact, I have a rather lazy disposition,

so when there's something inconvenient, I often just adapt to the inconvenience instead...

Put nicely,

I'm someone who knows how to be satisfied with what I have...

To put it plainly...

I'm just the type who doesn't make an effort to change things unless they're really important...

But I feel something here too...

I think the Creator's consideration is truly remarkable...

As you know, I have an exceptionally brilliant mind...

If I were the type of person who felt a lot of inconvenience,

humanity's civilization might have already skipped several generations,

and South Korea's first Nobel Prize would have been a done deal...

Attractive appearance, the highest intelligence, and a brilliant mind...

If a personality that felt a lot of inconvenience was added to all that...?

Ah...

Just thinking about it makes me dizzy...

because an unprecedented monster(?) might have been born in human history...

[EN] The other day, while watching the little ones, I told my wife... "You need to be hurting and uncomfortable to find solutions and learn from them." I said that after seeing how parents do everything and nannies handle things so smoothly for them. Ilchiwol-jang, you should probably have some inconvenience too... but you're so perfect... God created all people equal. But then he made some more equal.... or so they say..

ㅎㅎㅎㅎ Tuhan menciptakan semua orang sama. Namun beberapa dijadikan lebih sama.... begitulah katanya..

Don't let ordinary people feel relative deprivation... I've been living a reclusive life at home for quite some time... When I die, I've told my family to cremate me... Since I have no money to leave behind, they should look for the sarira from the bone ash to seek blessings for the family's fortune... like that...
