The Special Counsel on Insurrection renotified former President Yoon Suk-yeol of his required appearance on July 1st at 9:00 AM. This came after former President Yoon's side requested a schedule change citing health concerns and the need to secure his right to trial defense. However, the special counsel referred the matter to police for investigation, alleging that Yoon's legal team engaged in obstruction of the investigation. In particular, the counsel issued a warning after deeming the refusal by Yoon's legal representatives to allow questioning of Park Chang-hwan, head of the National Police Agency's Major Crimes Investigation Division, as obstruction. If former President Yoon fails to comply with the July 1st summons, there is a possibility that a request for an arrest warrant may be considered.
