A fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant on the second floor of COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Firefighting authorities deployed personnel and vehicles to suppress the fire in approximately 2 hours, and fortunately, there were no casualties. The fire caused an evacuation of approximately 1,200 COEX visitors, and the Samseong-dong area was engulfed in smoke. The fire is estimated to have started from the kitchen ceiling hood, and police and firefighting authorities are investigating the exact cause.
