In the Democratic Party of Korea leadership election primary, candidate Kim Min-seok won in Jeju and Incheon regions, regaining the top spot in cumulative vote share. The difference in cumulative vote share between the two leading candidates is only 0.86 percentage points, and it is expected to decrease further when the weight of Gyeongsangnam-do region is reflected. This weekend, primaries will be held in Honam and Seoul/Gyeonggi regions, and the results from these regions are expected to be a crucial factor in determining the winner of the party convention. In the Supreme Council member election, candidate Park Seon-won ranked first with 17.82%, while candidates from both pro-Myung and pro-Cheong factions placed within the top five. The overall voting results will be announced at the party convention to be held in Daejeon on the 17th.
