Heavy rain occurred in the metropolitan area late last night, with some areas recording rainfall exceeding 60mm per hour. Heavy rain warnings and heavy rain advisories were issued for Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, and other regions. Strong rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder is expected to continue in the central region, North Jeolla Province, and North Gyeongsang Province until the 19th. Some inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province are expected to experience concentrated heavy rainfall of up to 250mm or more, while the metropolitan area is also expected to receive up to 200mm or more of precipitation. This heavy rain is expected to continue through the weekend, and there is a possibility that rain will continue throughout the country except Jeju Island from the 20th.
