Mr. A, a man in his 70s, was demanded to repay the 420 million won he had borrowed from Ms. B, a woman he had known for about a year. He lured her to a mountain in Sancheong County, Gyeongsangnam-do, and attempted to kill her several times with a blunt weapon but failed. Mr. A had lied to Ms. B, saying that he buried the money in the ground, and lured her to the mountains. The Daegu High Court dismissed Mr. A's appeal and sentenced him to 7 years in prison, the same as the first trial. The court ruled that Mr. A had the intention to kill, and stated that the prosecution's reasons for appeal had already been considered in the first trial.
