Residents of an apartment complex in Naju City, Jeollanam-do are suffering due to a mass appearance of spiders. The spiders are believed to have flowed in from the swampy area along the nearby Deuldeok River. Residents are unable to open their windows due to the dense spider webs, and some have even visited the hospital after being bitten by spiders. Although the apartment management office has carried out pest control work through a private pest control company, the effect has been minimal. Naju City cannot take direct pest control measures because spiders are not classified as pests. Instead, they plan to indirectly eliminate spider habitats by mowing the grass along the Deuldeok River and strengthening pest control against mosquitoes and moths.
