A landslide occurred in Mogok-ri, Seomyeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province on the morning of September 4th. Residents said they had heard small stones falling from the mountain for three days prior, and that rockslides continued throughout the previous day, raising concerns. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but one warehouse storing agricultural machinery was buried. In preparation for the possibility of further landslides, Hongcheon County evacuated 16 residents and requested technical advice from the Korea Forest Disaster Safety Technology Corporation to determine the exact cause and extent of the damage, and to begin emergency restoration.
