President Lee Jae-myung held a luncheon meeting with leaders from both ruling and opposition parties on the 8th to call for mitigation of political confrontation. In particular, People Power Party Chair Jang Dong-hyeok expressed concerns about government judicial intervention by opposing the extension of a special counsel and the establishment of a special tribunal for insurrection. President Lee emphasized cooperation between the ruling and opposition parties and promised to sufficiently reflect opposition views. As a result of the meeting, the formation of a People's Livelihood and Economic Council was agreed upon, which signifies joint efforts by both parties to resolve issues directly affecting citizens' lives. Additionally, there was agreement on the need for bipartisan cooperation in foreign policy and security matters, including the ROK-US summit and issues related to immigration enforcement operations in Georgia.
