At least 1,130 people have died in the massive floods that hit the Nepal-China border region, and 4,462 are missing. There are nine Korean nationals missing, and the government is dispatching the Overseas Emergency Rescue Team (KDRT) to support search and rescue operations. The KDRT is equipped with advanced equipment such as rescue dogs and drones and is working with local authorities to find the missing Korean nationals. Efforts are underway to rescue hundreds of workers believed to be trapped in a hydroelectric power plant tunnel, but access is difficult due to mud and water, and the chances of survival are dwindling. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the risk of infectious disease outbreaks is increasing in areas affected by the floods.
