Daejeon City is making efforts to grow the 'Bread Festival,' Mayor Huh Tae-jung's representative campaign pledge, into a national festival in South Korea. The 'Daejeon Bread Festival,' which will be held for two days from October 17th to 18th this year, will feature local bakery booths, experiences, exhibitions, and performances with a budget of 450 million won. However, next year, the event period will be extended to 17 days, and it is planned to showcase various contents such as participation of famous bakeries nationwide and a local bread festival under the name 'Dae Bread Festival.' Accordingly, the budget is expected to increase ninefold to 4 billion won, and the event organizer will be changed from Daejeon Tourism Corporation to Daejeon City. Daejeon City aims to enhance the competitiveness of the festival based on the image of 'City of Bread,' but it seems necessary to verify the efficiency of the rapidly increasing budget.
