A landslide occurred in Jiru County, Tibet, China, resulting in 5 deaths and 558 missing persons. Among the missing are 260 foreigners, and it is unclear whether any South Koreans were affected. The landslide originated in Nepal and swept across the border region with China, and rescue efforts are currently underway. Concerns remain about further damage due to rainfall forecasts, and there is a high possibility that water accumulated in Lake Ungu will cause downstream flooding.
