Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa denied rumors that the government will abolish the 3% deficit limit for the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). According to Purbaya, President Prabowo Subianto is very firm in implementing cautious fiscal policies. The APBN deficit in 2027 is projected to remain below 3% in accordance with applicable regulations. The 3% deficit limit is stipulated in the State Finance Law and its revision will be a separate process. The APBN deficit for Semester I-2026 was recorded at Rp196.5 trillion or 0.76% of GDP because the realization of state revenue was still lower compared to total state expenditure.
