In the Democratic Party of Korea primary election for party leader, candidate Jung Chung-rae beat candidate Kim Min-seok in the North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang regions to take first place. Candidate Jung recorded voting rates of 48.76% and 46.08% in Busan and South Gyeongsang respectively, surpassing Candidate Kim to win. However, in Ulsan, Candidate Kim won with 46.32%, ahead of Candidate Jung (43.30%), achieving a regional victory. Overall, Candidate Jung received 45.51% and Candidate Kim received 44.52% of the vote, with a difference of 0.99 percentage points between the two candidates, indicating a very close competition. In the Supreme Council election, pro-Jung candidates dominated, with candidate Choi Min-hee taking first place in North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang with a voting rate of 22.87%.
