WEMIX, a cryptocurrency issued by Wemade, has suffered another hacking incident due to the abnormal issuance of 5.22 million WEMIX dollars (approximately KRW 7.7 billion). Hackers converted WEMIX dollars into USDC.e and then laundered the funds through a blockchain bridge. This is similar to an incident last March when Wemade suffered a hacking damage of around KRW 9 billion, leading to the suspension of trading support by DAXA due to security issues. Currently, the WEMIX Foundation is cooperating with relevant authorities to track down the attackers and freeze assets. Due to the hack, WEMIX has completely suspended the bridge function that allows asset movement from the mainnet WEMIX 3.0 to other blockchains.
