The U.S. State Department suspended its plan to purchase approximately 580 billion won worth of Tesla vehicles after the proposal sparked controversy. The plan drew scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who heads the Department of Government Efficiency, appeared to be giving preferential treatment to his own company's products. The State Department clarified that the inquiry was aimed at investigating private sector production of electric armored vehicles and that there is currently no purchase plan. Musk also stated that Tesla will not enter into a contract with the State Department.
