Large-scale wildfires are occurring in several European countries, displacing over 90,000 people. Spain declared a national state of emergency for the first time due to wildfires and requested support from the EU along with France. In Spain, the number of large wildfires that have occurred this year is significantly higher than usual, and the area lost is estimated to be twice the size of Seoul. In France, wildfires in the Gironde region burned over 10,000 hectares, destroying 50 houses and displacing 44,000 vacationers. The EU is providing firefighting aircraft in response to requests from Spain and France.
