From the 17th to the 18th, more than 540 damages occurred in the metropolitan area and Gangwon Province due to heavy downpours. In Paju and Dongducheon, precipitation of up to 200mm was recorded, and major damage forms included house and road flooding, soil erosion, and tree uprooting. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but temporary evacuations took place, and national parks and riverside walking trails were controlled. The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters activated a Level 2 emergency work system and predicted that the downpour would spread to the southern region and continue until the 20th.
