The government plans to strengthen the emergency medical system by securing the maximum number of open clinics and hospitals during the Lunar New Year holiday period to minimize gaps in outpatient care, and by assigning one-on-one dedicated coordinators to emergency rooms nationwide. In particular, patients with respiratory diseases will be directed to fever clinics and respiratory disease cooperating hospitals, and rapid transport support will be provided for high-risk pregnant women and newborns. Additionally, to strengthen backup medical care capacity at emergency rooms, measures such as increasing consultation fees for emergency medicine specialists and adding surcharges for emergency medical services will be implemented, and backup care fees are also scheduled to be increased during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
