To commemorate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, Korean was selected as an official invited language at the Avignon Festival. Korean information boards were installed at the festival headquarters, and Korean literature books were popular at the Korean Literature Book Fair. In addition, nine out of 47 official programs were Korean works, including a reading performance of Han Kang's original work "Don't Say Goodbye," showcasing various Korean theater and art works. Meanwhile, an exhibition by painter Lee Woo-hwan is being held at the Avignon Papal Palace, and director Park Chan-wook's first solo photography exhibition in Europe is underway in Arles.
