KOMPAS.com - Recording videos at concerts turns out to not be as easy as imagined. Especially when your favorite song starts playing. It feels difficult to just stand still.
At this moment, I automatically sing along, nod my head, and even occasionally dance to the rhythm of the music.
The problem is, the more fun the concert atmosphere, the greater the likelihood that the video footage will be shaky.
Not to mention if you have to record while holding up your phone in the middle of a crowd of spectators.
Well, I had a different experience when watching a K-pop group Cortis concert at Indonesia Arena a while ago, using Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Thanks to the Horizontal Lock feature on Samsung S26 Ultra, I was still able to enjoy the concert without worrying too much about the fan-cam footage looking tilted or even blurry.
As I moved along with the music, Horizontal Lock helped keep the video orientation straight, so the recording looked more pleasant to watch.
Samsung says this feature relies on optical image stabilization technology, or Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), on the main camera and telephoto camera.
This is combined with a gyroscope-based image stabilization system, or Gyro-EIS, as well as an accelerometer sensor that is claimed to work to reduce shake during video recording in real-time.
The result is certainly not replacing the function of a professional gimbal, but it helps enough to produce stable video for uploading to social media or saving as a keepsake.
How to activate Horizontal Lock
KOMPAS.com/Bill Clinten How to activate the Horizontal Lock feature on Samsung S26 Ultra.
To access Horizontal Lock, users can access the camera app and go to the video recording view.
Then, users can select the "running person" logo in the top right corner and select the "Horizontal Lock" icon which is in the third position in the row of icons that appears.
After that, users can immediately dance and have fun while recording concert videos.
Horizontal Lock is not only available on Galaxy S26 Ultra, but also on Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus.
This feature can be used when recording using the ultrawide camera (0.6x), main camera (1x), and telephoto camera (2x zoom).
That way, users can choose the shooting angle according to their needs without losing the benefit of video orientation stabilization.
The result of Horizontal Lock video when I watched the Cortis concert can be seen in the KompasTekno Instagram Reels content below.
