Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is planning to build an electric vehicle factory in the Subang region of West Java, Indonesia. BYD has already purchased the land, with factory construction scheduled to begin in early next year and be completed by the end of 2025. This investment is part of the total $7.4 billion in investment commitments by Chinese companies in Indonesia, with additional investments planned in fiberglass, PET resin, and solar panel sectors. In particular, in the fishing industry, there is a joint China-Indonesia investment plan to establish an integrated fishing system in the Maluku and Papua regions.
