A Jeju Air flight 7C2216 crashed during landing at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. The aircraft, which had departed from Bangkok, Thailand and was heading to Muan, attempted a belly landing due to landing gear failure and collided with a structure at the end of the runway, causing a fire. Of the 181 passengers on board, 28 have died, and 2 have been rescued and are receiving treatment at a hospital. A bird strike is currently suspected as the cause of the landing gear failure. Fire authorities are conducting rescue operations and casualty assessments.
