Hello, I am a rider who has been into road cycling for 1 year.
I chose the Gusto Cobra mechanical model as my first beginner bike and have been riding it very carefully.
I purchased it used
and I did not receive a warranty certificate.
I only received a photo of the purchase receipt.
However, a few days ago, while disassembling the front wheel, I discovered a crack in the fork area. Since it's a safety issue, I contacted Gusto Korea (headquarters) to ask if it was possible to purchase a fork separately, and I was directed to contact an authorized Gusto dealer.
I contacted the dealer the next day, but the response was absurd. They said it was impossible to purchase a fork as a single item, and that if I wanted to change the fork, I would have to either buy a new bicycle or purchase an entire frameset used.
It seems you can only purchase a frameset if you have a warranty certificate and receipt.
How does it make sense to tell riders to take care of their own safety and buy everything again when there's no parts inventory or alternatives? It's like telling someone to replace their entire car because a bumper or fender is broken. I feel deeply disillusioned by this brand's irresponsible after-sales service policy and handling.
Due to this incident, I have completely lost affection for the Gusto brand and will never buy this brand's bicycles again. If anyone around me is considering buying Gusto, I plan to actively discourage them. I'm sharing this so that beginners considering purchasing a brand bicycle will think carefully about future after-sales service and parts availability issues, so that others don't experience the same harm.
