The Indonesian government has banned the sale of iPhone 16 due to Apple's failure to meet its local component usage ratio targets. Apple realized only a portion of the investment it had promised to Indonesia and failed to achieve its goals for establishing research and development facilities. Indonesia mandates foreign companies to use local components to foster domestic industries and has demanded Apple make substantial investments, including establishing manufacturing facilities. As a result, Indonesian consumers are expressing dissatisfaction as purchasing Apple products becomes more difficult.
