Coupang refused a field investigation by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) regarding allegations of violations of the Large Distribution Business Act and applied for suspension of execution, but the court dismissed Coupang's claim. The court ruled that the suspension of the effect of the field investigation would have a greater impact on public interest and did not accept Coupang's request. As a result, the KFTC is expected to impose a surcharge for obstructing the investigation on Coupang, which can be up to 200 million won. The KFTC also plans to conduct additional field investigations if necessary.
