The Seoul Administrative Court ruled that a printing and packaging company A in North Chungcheong Province, which received subsidies for hiring a new disabled employee, would be subject to six times the penalty surcharge for fraudulently receiving them. Company A claimed to have hired a disabled person, Mr. B, but it was revealed that Mr. B had actually been working for the company since 2019. The court recognized the intentional fraudulent receipt of subsidies by Company A and judged that strict regulations should be imposed on acts that undermine the credibility and fairness of welfare systems. This ruling is expected to contribute to strengthening punishments for fraudulent receipt of subsidies for hiring disabled people.
