Former President Yoon Suk-yeol faced his first hearing on charges of general treason in connection with the Pyongyang drone incident. The court decided to conduct the hearing in closed session citing concerns over exposure of state secrets. The legal team of former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun argued that the proceedings could not continue without a special prosecutor assistant, halting the trial for approximately 20 minutes, but the issue was resolved when special prosecutor assistant Park Eok-su appeared. The special prosecution team is arguing that general treason charges are applicable because military secrets were leaked due to the crashed drone that was deployed at the time.
