Domestic gas station fuel prices have fallen for 17 consecutive weeks despite rising international oil prices due to the government's petroleum maximum price system. The average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide during the second week of September was 1,859.1 won per liter, and diesel recorded 1,844.0 won per liter. International oil prices have been on an upward trend due to concerns about armed conflict in the Middle East, but the government is minimizing fluctuations in domestic fuel prices through petroleum maximum prices. The current gasoline maximum price is 1,784 won per liter, and diesel is 1,773 won per liter. The 10th petroleum maximum price will be announced at the end of this month.
