Yeong-il is a character who doesn't lose his subjectivity even in an oppressive era and tries to find the truth by raising questions. Lee Min-ho said he was fascinated by Yeong-il's lively appearance and forward-thinking spirit. Through working with director Heo Jin-ho, Lee Min-ho realized the importance of questioning and recalled that he created natural dialogue with other reporters while drinking makgeolli together. Lee Min-ho, who had felt burdened by the image of a 'star' as a leading Hallyu star, said that he gained a new perspective on acting and life through the drama 'Pachinko', and expressed his will to become a more free actor in the future.
