Indonesia's Finance Minister has criticized the quality of the next-generation national tax system 'CoTax' developed by a Korean consortium, saying it falls short of expectations. The minister pointed out that the software's level is merely equivalent to high school graduate-level coding skills, and that the core architecture is handled by the Korean side, making it difficult to access. Although the current contract remains valid and Indonesia's access to the system is limited, the government plans to fully take over the system after the contract expires between January and February next year. The minister emphasized that future national strategic IT projects will be pursued with a focus on domestic technical expertise.
