Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki's team has secured physical evidence of luxury items allegedly given by the Unification Church to Kim Keon-hee, the wife of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, as payment for petitioning on church matters. The items, including three Chanel bags, one Graff necklace, and one pair of Chanel shoes, were reportedly exchanged through Yu Kyung-ok, a former administrative official close to Kim Keon-hee. The special prosecutor's team aims to use these items to support suspicions that Kim Keon-hee received bribes from the Unification Church in exchange for favors. Kim Keon-hee's legal team has raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the item submission process, pointing out possible legal violations and the potential for coercion during transfer, arguing that there are significant risks of infringing on her right to defense. The special prosecutor's team is expected to formally investigate whether former President Yoon Suk-yeol was involved based on the secured evidence.
