Some Samsung Electronics semiconductor division employees are suspected of fraudulently receiving housing allowance subsidies from the company. The company has a policy of providing up to 700,000 won per month in rent support for employees working at the Pyeongtaek campus who live in officetels or one-room apartments under 10 square meters. However, some employees are alleged to have resided in houses larger than 33㎡ and received subsidies unfairly by manipulating lease agreement contents. Samsung Electronics is conducting an investigation to confirm the facts related to the allegations, with over 100 people reportedly being investigated.
