A man in his 30s, a civil servant, murdered his wife who was taking refuge due to domestic violence after receiving divorce papers. Police are expected to apply charges of revenge murder under the Special Act for Revenge Murder, as they believe A's motive was revenge. Charges of violation of the Domestic Violence Punishment Act and child abuse will also be applied. A is believed to have committed the crime out of resentment after anticipating an unfavorable outcome in the divorce proceedings. Although the victim child did not suffer physical injuries, charges of emotional abuse may be applied as they witnessed the crime.
