Instagram will limit accounts that use AI to impersonate real humans. This policy is a new label "AI-generated profile" that must be placed on accounts that display AI-created personas. Accounts without this label may lose reach and the distribution of their content to other users will be limited. Instagram implemented this policy based on user feedback who felt uncomfortable with profiles that appeared to be real humans but were actually created using AI. Although limiting impersonating accounts, Instagram still allows creators to use AI as a tool to help create content as long as it is not used to create the main fictional persona on the profile.
