President Lee Jae-myung announced additional ministerial candidates for six government ministries, nearly completing his cabinet composition. Koo Yun-chul, special professor at Seoul National University's Department of Economics, was nominated as Finance Minister; Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Sung-ho was nominated as Justice Minister; and Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Ho-joong was nominated as Interior and Safety Minister. Additionally, former Chungnam National University President Lee Jin-suk was nominated as Education Minister, Doosan Enervility President Kim Jeong-gwan was nominated as Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, and former Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Director Jeong Eun-kyung was nominated as Minister of Health and Welfare. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety decided to retain current Commissioner Oh Yu-gyung in her position, and personnel changes were made to the positions of deputy directors and chief of staff at the National Intelligence Service. President Lee appointed Bong Wook, former head of the Human Rights Bureau at the Ministry of Justice, as Senior Civil Affairs Secretary and Jeon Seong-hwan as Senior Secretary for Listening and Integration.
