The prosecution sought the death penalty for Jang Yun-gi, who was indicted on charges of murdering a high school girl. The prosecution argued that Jang Yun-gi showed psychopathic tendencies and posed a high risk of recidivism. Although Jang Yun-gi apologized to the victim and bereaved family, he was assessed as showing no remorse for denying the charges and retracting his statements.
